Graphenea and UltraSense Featured by SPRI
UltraSense partner Graphenea has been featured by SPRI, highlighting its contribution to the development of innovative graphene-based technologies for healthcare applications within the UltraSense project.
SPRI, the Basque Business Development Agency, recently featured Graphenea as part of its initiative showcasing innovative companies and technological developments from the Basque Country. The article highlights the company’s leadership in graphene production and its participation in European research and innovation projects.

In the interview, Amaia Rebollo discussed Graphenea’s role in UltraSense and the project’s ambition to support earlier diagnosis and improved management of obesity and metabolic syndrome through innovative wearable health technologies. As part of the project, Graphenea is developing advanced graphene-based sensing solutions capable of analysing biomarkers in sweat, contributing to a non-invasive approach for health monitoring.
The feature also presents UltraSense as a collaborative European initiative bringing together partners from multiple countries to develop a wearable platform that combines complementary sensing technologies, including ultrasound, bioimpedance and graphene-based biosensors. By integrating these technologies into a single monitoring solution, the project aims to enable more comprehensive and user-friendly health assessment tools.
This recognition provides valuable visibility for both Graphenea and the UltraSense project, helping communicate the potential of advanced sensing technologies to broader audiences beyond the research community.
The UltraSense consortium congratulates Graphenea on this feature and thanks SPRI for highlighting innovative research and technology developments that contribute to the future of digital health.
